Sometimes it takes a bit to get the creative juices flowing.  Other times, they’re in overdrive.  This week it’s over drive.  The swap group I play in, had some wonderful prompts and challenges this month.  It was hard only sticking to six themes, since there were so many good ones to chose from!!  The above is the beginning of a fairie themed pocket card.  I’m excited about this one.  I can see this one in my head, but not sure if it’s going to look like it in the end.  We’ll see!

These cards are for our selfie theme.  I think many of us “collect” items, stamps, dies  that reflect our other hobbies and passions.  Cameras are one of mine, so it’s not surprising to see my “stash” grow to reflect it.  These cards were inspired by another blogger who used these fabulous stamps by Stampotique.  The artist is Daniel Torrente and his little kid sketches are a favorite.  The card on the left is for the swap and the card on the right will be “bonus” cards or perhaps hostess cards.  I dunno yet!

Sometimes you have an idea in your head but when you get it down on paper, it doesn’t work.  That was the case with the picture on the right.  It wasn’t working.  So I set it aside to work on something else.  Then I picked it up again after watching of all things, The Big Bang Theory.  (Our family is sadly addicted)  But yup, you guessed it, they were up to “shenanigans” and I was ready to roll!

This Rolo fell together.  I used a stamp sentiment from Unity Stamps.  Lately they’ve become an addiction, between their facebook page and blog…there’s so much inspiration.  And their weekly challenges are perfect to get your creative juices flowing.  This older paper from DCWV has a lot of glimmering gold, which led to the butterfly die cut.  After using ink techniques by Tim Holtz, I rubbed gold shimmer wax on the wings.  It didn’t match what was in my head..then I saw another challenge.  It was Tim Holtz’s tag of the month challenge.  He used gold foil to accent a piece.  THAT’s what I wanted.  It doesn’t photograph well, but I used the foil sheets and randomly “gilded” the wings.  LOVED!!

So that’s it for this week!  Thanks for stopping by!  Wow, what is this 2-3 weeks in a row?  Getting better at this!  😀

Rainy Days…

Playing over at Unity {Show & Tell} again.  This weeks challenge was to use one of the many wonderful Unity Girls stamps.  Harmony Girl spoke to me the first time I saw it, she had to come home.  Who could pass up her umbrella and fabulous “wellies”?   As usual, I mixed up challenges.  It’s a new year of Monthly Tags at the Tim Holtz blog, so I used his February technique challenge and mixed it up.  🙂

Inspiration comes from all over and Tammy Tutterow had once used seed beads on one of her projects.  Well gee, I have some of those stashed somewhere…. after dabbing some Glue n Seal and pressing some seed beads into it.  POOF!  Rain!

Most of the Unity Girl stamps have their own sentiment but I was suffering from an ear worm.  So the Carpenters “Rainy Days and Mondays” became a part of my tag.  It seemed fitting for the tag.  You have until Thursday, March 3 to get your entry in if you’d like to play along over at Unity.  Or pop onto Facebook and browse their gallery, there are some wonderful creations over there!
